Matrix has been used for photo galleries, restaurant menus, TV programming guides, video transcripts, agendas, and much more. It makes no assumptions about your content, so you’re free to mold it into whichever shape you desire. The possibilities are literally endless.
Celltypes For All
Matrix comes bundled with Text, Date, and File (new for EE2) celltypes. Checkboxes, radio buttons, drop-down menus and multi-selects are also at your disposal, via the fieldtypes bundled with FieldFrame for EE1, and the P&T Field Pack for EE2. But your choices don’t end there:
- Wygwam brings on the power of CKEditor for your WYSIWYG pleasure.
- Playa lets you create relationships with other entries, and combined with Matrix, you’ve got an extremely powerful way to save additional information about the nature of those relationships.
- nGen File Field (EE1 only) makes it easy to upload and select files in ExpressionEngine 1.6.
- BucketList (EE1 only) takes uploading files a step further, enabling you to upload and select files from your Amazon S3 account.
A Breeze to Set Up
Setting up a Matrix fields couldn’t be easier. Columns can be added, edited, sorted, and removed right from the Edit Field page.
